This service is stout! I bought these because of there basic design yet higher price hoping for impressive performance. I received exactly what I wanted! This service is completely functional and probably won't bend in the slightest compared to what you may have know. I feel like this was a straight up deal and glad I found this option!This silverware set is exactly what I wanted. Clean simple design. Goes through the dishwasher without a spot. Feels good and sturdy in your hand without being overly heavy. I would say more of a modern design without being quirky. Could not have made a better choice.Nice set for the money.Some of the pieces had light scratches on them; none very bad, but still, one expects no scratches on something brand new. One of the larger spoons was slightly misshapen, I was able to correct that.After reading on various websites about 18/10 quality flatware, especially information concerning the differing composition for the knives which can result in rusting problems in a dishwasher, I've decided I wasn't taking any chances and I hand wash all of these in the sink, using a soft sponge and a microfiber towel to dry them. There are only two of us and it only takes a few minutes. I enjoy the lustrous finish and smooth edges and I want to preserve the finish. I have a slightly fancier set I use only for company; they are going on 10 years old and have only been hand washed and they still look great.This flatware has a nice weight to it, good balance and their size and elegance is just right for what we want.Very lightweight which I dont like.I have now ordered about 4 different sets & returned them all. This set is beautiful as well - shines nicely, feels good but not strong or thick enough for my big hands or my family. Since I am returning them without using them, as I have with all the others, I can not say how they stand up in dish washer or over time.Good weight, comfortable feel and pieces remain shiny after going thru the dishwasher. I like the clean design too. Money well spent.I wanted to replace my old silverware with a heavier set with larger spoons and forks than my current set. The dinner fork, tablespoon and teaspoon on this new set are way larger than my old set. They have a nice feel to them, the knives are shipped with a sharp edge that will cut flesh is handle them improperly. The only compliant is that one of the dinner forks had a tang bent out of position. Not easy but I was able to bend it back in position. I like this set of 8 so much I just ordered an additional set of 4.These are supposed to be 18-10 stainless which is the best grade of stainless available on flatware. They come highly polished.Good quality.Came with black residue, didn't notice till we started eating
